Early Childhood Education Program

As part of the program, grandmothers received training from nurses and staff at the Ministry of Health. Training was delivered through the use of pictures and alternative materials to overcome literacy barriers. Trained grandmothers then provided support and training to mothers through group sessions and home visits to mothers of children younger than 5 years. In addition, communication materials were developed with involvement from grandmothers and broadcast through national radio.
